Shooting on Hollywood Walk of Fame leaves teen dead; search on for 2nd armed suspect

Police are investigating a shooting on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame that left a teenager dead and authorities searching for an armed gunman Monday morning.

The shooting was reported shortly after 1 a.m. near the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and North Sycamore Avenue.

Investigators believe two people described as suspects got into an argument and began shooting near a group of people outside a CVS.

Arriving officers located a 17-year-old suffering from gunshot wounds and transported him to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Madison said.

The teen was found on the sidewalk with a handgun next to him and was believed to be one of the suspects, Madison said.

Investigators are still searching for a second suspect, described as standing about 5 feet 10 inches tall and wearing all black clothing.

The suspect is believed to be armed with a semi-automatic weapon, Madison said.

Hollywood Boulevard between Orange Drive and La Brea Avenue was expected to remain closed into the afternoon hours for the investigation.
