Pacific Palisades Home Burglarized Twice in One Night

Headline of home burglarized twice in a single night

In an unsettling incident over the weekend, a home in the usually tranquil neighborhood of Pacific Palisades fell victim to not one, but two burglaries within a span of seven hours. The residents were away during this time, leaving their home vulnerable to the repeated invasions.

The First Break-In

The initial break-in occurred on Embury Street around 10 p.m. on Saturday. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the suspects gained entry through a second-story window. The details of the first burglary were still being pieced together when a second, more aggressive break-in took place.

A Second Invasion

Just hours later, at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, police were alerted to a second burglary at the same residence. This time, the suspects forcefully entered the home by smashing through a sliding glass door on the first floor. The brazen nature of the second break-in has left the community on edge, questioning the safety measures in place.

The Aftermath

Police believe that both burglaries were likely committed by the same two men, who are thought to have been armed during the incidents. Despite the rapid response from law enforcement, the suspects managed to flee the scene before the police arrived both times. As of Sunday evening, it remains unclear what, if anything, was stolen from the home.

Community Reaction

The incident has left the normally quiet neighborhood in shock. Speaking to KTLA’s Jennifer McGraw, a neighbor, Sophia Kivelson, expressed her disbelief and concern. “What’s the optimal criminal strategy here,” Kivelson pondered. “Maybe like, [the residents] are no longer on their guard or something?”

Rising Concerns

This alarming event highlights a growing concern about the rise in burglaries in Los Angeles. The LAPD has acknowledged an uptick in such crimes, emphasizing the need for heightened awareness and security measures among residents.

As the investigation continues, the community remains on high alert, hoping for swift justice and a return to the sense of safety they once enjoyed.
