Man survives shooting outside Beverly Hills restaurant next to Spago - No where is Safe!

BEVERLY HILLS — A man was shot outside a restaurant in Beverly Hills, and an investigation was underway Tuesday.

The shooting was reported at about 10:50 p.m. Monday on the 100 block of North Canon Drive, near Wilshire Boulevard, according to Lt. Giovanni Trejo of the Beverly Hills Police Department.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, Trejo said.

“The motive for the shooting is still unknown,” Trejo said in a statement late Tuesday morning. “However, the preliminary investigation indicates this was not a random act and there is no active threat to the Beverly Hills community.”

The shooting occurred in front of Nusr-Et Steakhouse next to Spago, the famous Wolfgang Puck restaurant, according to ABC7.

According to CBS2, the wounded man was a patron of a restaurant who stepped outside to smoke, and as he was smoking, he was struck in the lower back by at least one bullet fired from across the street. The suspect ran to a waiting vehicle that sped from the area, the station reported.

Anyone with information about the crime was urged to call the BHPD at 310-285-2125. Tipsters may call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS, or use the website www.lacrimestoppers.org.
