Burglary Suspect Disguised as Firefighter Amid Los Angeles Wildfires

Suspected burglar dressed as firefighter arrested

As wildfires ravage Los Angeles, authorities have arrested 29 individuals for crimes linked to the disaster, including a burglary suspect disguised as a firefighter.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna reported that 25 arrests occurred near the Eaton Fire and four near the Palisades Fire. Among them was a man caught burglarizing a home in Malibu while dressed as a firefighter. “I didn’t realize we had him in handcuffs,” Luna said. The suspect has been turned over to the LAPD.

LAPD Chief Jim McDonald urged residents to avoid evacuation zones unless authorized, emphasizing the importance of curfews. Additional arrests included one for curfew violation and three linked to burglary.

These incidents highlight the challenges law enforcement faces during crises, as some exploit vulnerable situations. Residents are encouraged to stay vigilant, report suspicious activity, and comply with evacuation orders to ensure community safety. Source: Fox News
