In the early hours of Tuesday, August 6, another multi-million dollar home in Encino fell victim to a burglary, marking the latest incident in a troubling series of break-ins plaguing the area. This time, the terrifying event unfolded while the family was inside their home on the 16800 block of Mooncrest Drive.
According to the LAPD's West Valley Watch Commander, the suspects gained entry by shattering a glass door at the back of the property. Despite the alarming intrusion, the family members, fortunately, remained unharmed. However, it remains unclear whether any belongings were stolen.
Responding to the call just after 3 a.m., LAPD officers arrived swiftly but the suspects, described as males, had already fled the scene. This incident adds to the growing list of similar crimes that have been unsettling the Encino community in recent months.
This recent break-in is part of a disturbing trend that has seen a surge in burglaries in the neighborhood. In July alone, the area experienced a significant spike with multiple homes being targeted. On July 30, a particularly harrowing night, at least seven homes were broken into in just one week.
The residents of Encino are understandably on edge as these brazen crimes continue to occur with alarming frequency. The LAPD urges anyone with information regarding these incidents to come forward to help apprehend those responsible and restore a sense of security to the community.
As the investigation continues, the Encino community remains vigilant, hoping for swift justice and a return to the peace and tranquility that once defined their neighborhood.
