Broad Daylight Robbery Shocks Beverly Hills: Two Victims Hospitalized

Robbery suspect in Beverly Hills

In a shocking display of crime in the heart of one of the most luxurious shopping districts in the world, two individuals were hospitalized after being victims of an armed robbery on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills on Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred just before 1:30 p.m. on November 24, 2024, when a man and a woman were outside a high-end boutique on the 400 block of North Rodeo Drive, near the intersection of Brighton Way. The couple was approached by four suspects, one of whom brandished a firearm during a physical altercation.

According to the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD), the suspects forcefully stole two designer handbags, one from each victim, containing cash and cellphones. In the midst of the chaos, one of the victims’ cellphones was recovered nearby. The assailants also attempted to steal the male victim’s jewelry, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

A nearby bystander captured a chilling video showing the four suspects fleeing the scene, all wearing dark clothing and hooded sweatshirts. One of the suspects can be seen holding an item, likely one of the stolen handbags, as they ran up Rodeo Drive and disappeared into an alley.

While the scene appeared tense, it remains unclear if the victims were physically injured. Footage from the scene shows the male victim on the ground, with someone attempting to assist him and urgently calling for help. Medical personnel from the Beverly Hills Fire Department responded to the scene, but authorities confirmed that the victims sought medical attention independently at a nearby hospital. Their current conditions have not been disclosed.

The Beverly Hills Police Department is actively investigating the incident, urging anyone with information to come forward. Anyone who wishes to remain anonymous can contact the L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers Hotline or submit tips online.

This unsettling event has left many in the community rattled, underscoring the potential dangers even in the most prestigious and well-patrolled areas. As authorities continue their investigation, local residents and visitors alike are reminded of the unpredictable nature of crime, even in areas once considered among the safest in the country.
